I am researching the Robert GEE family who moved to Missouri from Kentucky/ Tennessee in the early 1800's. Robert GEE died abt May 1829 in Randolph Co., MO. An entry for his probate exists in that county listing several of his children.

I am a direct descendant of Robert through his son John GEE. I am interested in gathering information on this family, especially John. John married a Margaret _____? They had children; Stanford; Alfred; Arena GEE DAVIS; Andrew Jackson; Nathaniel; James Nicholas; and Elizabeth Nancy GEE, HIGGINBOTHAM, HUGHES. I am interested in securing Margaret's last name.

Also, I would like to find out information about a Benjamin & Polly BOUCHER. A Grundy county deed dated 23 Feb 1847 records a land sale with "Standford" GEE, Alfred & Sarah GEE to B. Boucher of Callaway County. Then on 9 Nov 1847 Benjamin & Polly BOUCHER granted Quit Claim Deeds for land in Grundy County to Margaret, James Nicholas, Elizabeth Nancy, and Andrew Jackson GEE. In the deed to Margaret and James Nicholas it granted the land to Margaret "during her lifetime, then to James Nicholas GEE," the reason for the land transfer was given as "for love and consideration", perhaps indicating a family relationship.

My paternal grandmother, Julia Bell LaCOUNT was born in Daviess County, but her parents Benjamin Carter LaCount and Olivia Bell Brandom had Grundy County ties. My gg-gfather, Charles Peter BRANDOM was elected county judge in 1877. The Brandoms came from Rappahannock and Culpeper counties Virginia in the 1850s. Charles' wife, Elizabeth "Betty" White was killed by lightning in 1859. Olivia Bell was their only child. In 1894, Olivia developed "consumption" and the dr. said it was best to "go west." West for them was Cleveland County, Oklahoma Territory. She lived about 10 days after arriving in Noble, OK.

The LaCounts are one of my brick walls.
