My husband´s grandfather was John W. Gerren. He married Rosannah Robertson in October 1896 in Trenton, Grundy Co. I would like to know where this John W. Gerren was born. He died in Edinburgh in March 1930. This is my husband´s grandfather. We are trying to find out more information on him. We have all of his grandmother´s information on the Robertson side, except for the Robertson´s who went to Kingfisher OK in the late 1890s and early 1900s.

William Bunyon CROUCH- Lived in Trenton, Mo, Grundy Country from around 1873-1881. He was killed in a train accident in 1881; he worked as a brakeman at the time. Looking for newspaper report of accident plus obit if possible. He also had three sons born in the area Guy L CROUCH 1875, Elmer Alexander CROUCH 1876 and Will Bunyon CROUCH Jr. IN 1881. We think he was also a member of the Knights of Pythias. Any clues to how to get records of birth would be appreciated.

I am trying to find the place of birth of Edward Morton Crawford. He was city collector of Trenton for 1905 and was re-elected in 1907. From 1901 to 1905 he was county treasurer and for four years previous to that time he was collector of Trenton township. He married my grandmother, Leah Elizabeth Campbell in 1877 in Trenton. She is the daughter of A.J. Campbell and Mary Quinn. Both Edward and Elizabeth are buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. I can find no record of Edward´s family except that he came to Missouri when a boy, in about 1858 and has since been a resident of Grundy. Any information regarding his parents or place of birth in Ohio would be appreciated. His son was Edward and daughter, Maud Rader.

JOHNSON Andrew Jackson, born January 23, 1844 and died December 25, 1941. "Jack" is buried in Coon Creek Cemetery. He was married to Cynthia Ann DAVIDSON. She died between 1896 and 1902. He lived in Daviess and Gentry counties before coming to Grundy County. Cynthia is buried in a cemetery near McFall, MO. They had fourteen children, so hopefully a descendant will answer my query of my great grandfather.

I am researching my gg grandparents, Beryl Gene & Elizabeth Ann EMBRY. All I know of is one child, Nancy Jane EMBRY CHUMBLEY, born in Grundy Co. on Feb.23, 1866. On Sept. 13, 1885, she married Andrew Jackson CHUMBLEY, son of Robert G. CHUMBLEY & Mary Jane TARTER. I know that, at least, 2-4 of Andrew & Nancy´s 5 children were born near Hickory in Jefferson Twnshp., Grundy Co., MO. Their children were Harry b. 1888, Roy, Elizabeth b. 1890, Lulu b. 1886 & Edna (my grandmother who was born in Daviess Co. in 1899). While researching the cemetery list for Grundy Co., I came across a Burl & Elizabeth EMBRY buried in the Bratton Cemetery located in Jefferson Twnshp. S12 T60N R25W. Burl b. 6-10-1834, d. 2-11-1884 & Elizabeth b. 5-13-1841, d. 2-13-1874. I believe they could be my gg grandparents. I am trying to find out if there were any other siblings, what my gg grandmother´s maiden name was and where did they come from. My great grandfather´s brother GEORGE EDWARD CROOKS B. in Kansas but lived in MO. He lived in Trenton, Grundy Co. MO. He died at the age of 51,in an explosion at the G. Hertzog quarry in Trenton. He was struck in the back near his heart by a rock. He was killed instantly after the explosion. I am looking for information on his family as a connection to my CROOKS family line. Jessie came from Indiana to Missouri in the 1860-65 time frame. Jessie´s wife was Malissa Adair. They had one daughter and four sons. It is my understanding that when Susan passed away on 2/5/1905, she was living in Farmersville, Grundy County, MO. I am looking for information about James Cole and Mary Parker who were married 15 Sept 1861. James may have lived in Sugar Creek Township or Harrison. Mary died at her home in Hickory Jan 27 1916. William Leonard Stepp (father Joshua ,brother Paris) was a boy when he moved to Grundy, Co, MO, from IN. He married Missouri A E Belcher in 1858. They moved to CO and were pioneers in Denver, CO territory.

I am looking for information on the William Goodrich family. Hannah H Glenn Goodrich would be my ggaunt. William and Hannah lived in Grundy County in 1879/1881 time frame. At one time, John Glenn, Hannah´s father may have lived with them. William and Hannah moved from Shelbyville, IN to Clarke Co Iowa, and then to Grundy Co Missouri. I believe William and Hannah perhaps died in Grundy Co. William Goodrich was the Adminsitrator for the John Glenn estate in Jan of 1880. Other Glenn relatives (William A. Austin) lived in adjacent Livingston County.

Looking for any information on Mary HATFIELD born Grundy Co Mo March 6, 1840. Married Andrew Stanley in 1861 who died in 1865. She then married Richard Miller (no date). In 1872 she married Pleasant Davis. She died in 1925 and was buried in family burial ground in Welch cemetery in Welch Ok. At her death children were Maggie Turley,Henry Miller and Joe Davis. Article in the paper noting her death states she was a pioneer of Craig Co.(possibly in Ok.) Any info on her or her parents would be appreciated.

Griffith WHITT and Martha SKAGGS WHITT are buried in Coon Creek, Grundy Co., MO, 8/28/1853 and 4/22/55 respectively. I would like to know if this is a cemetery or a community. McCLURE/LOVELL - Rev. Dennis McClure and his wife Susan Lovell were the parents of my grandmother, Dora Ellen McClure, who married my grandfather, Albert Stotts, in Brimson, March 25, 1915. Rev. McClure was the minister at the Christian Union Church (Sharon Chapel?) and I believe that he may have officiated at my grandparents´ wedding. My great-grandfather--Charles E. PATTERSON--was born in 1873 in Davenport, Iowa. Have discovered a tintype photo of him at six months of age taken by "M.M.Berry--Photo-Artist--Trenton, Mo." Additionally, Charles´ daughter [Minalla PATTERSON GRIMES], son-in-law [Glen GRIMES] and their five children, as well as Charles´ widow, Katherine SPEECE PATTERSON GRIMES are all buried in Laredo [Richardson] Cemetery. What connection and/or history is there for the PATTERSON family to Laredo and Trenton? Charles died in 1915 and is buried in St. Joseph.

In 1840 he was in Lafayette Township of Livingston County, MO. In 1850 he was in Harrison County, MO, with wife Margaret (perhaps his second wife) and children Malinda, Elizabeth, Calvin, George, Henry, Antonette, Claracy J., and John. In 1860 he was in the same county with the addition of Elisia, Mary and Alice born after 1850. Have found nothing after that time other than a letter from one daughter, written in 1869 from Myersville in Grundy County to a cousin in Harrison County. Where did this family go?
